Web Console: Content Organization

In an effort to add more useful content into the web console, I'm planning to introduce a tab control to organize content into categories, such as searches, summary, and actions.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on this score? Specifically, any thoughts on how things should be split up?

my advice is to reduce navigation structures and focus on the content of the pages. i think that there are not that many pages needed to display all the content.

also consider how to synchronize between the web app contents and how to wrap up pieces in portlets (with JSF UI components?) And if so, how are you going to organise these portlets.
