HTML Emails and Email Attachments in 3.2.x Branch

I am interested in implementing HTML emails and attachments for the 3.2.x branch. I would also like to take advantage of Apache Commons Email library to clean up our codebase.

Are there any objections to using a new Apache Commons Email library? It adds a dependency yes, but it will clean up our codebase quite a bit. Also, using industry standard, solid libraries is a good thing.

in 3.x stability is more important then code-cleanliness

in 4.0 this might be an option. but i must say, i never had a problem with JavaMail. does commons email offer something more then just a convenience layer on top of JavaMail ?

It does offer a ByteArrayDataSource wrapper for InputStreams and other ByteArray attachments.

It also allows takes simple URLs and file locations as attachments and manages pulling in the data. This is more convenience.
