roy.russo Feb 14, 2006 6:05 PM (in response to ivanlatysh)ok. I understand now.
If you look at:portal-core-sar/conf/data/default-object.xml
notice the block at the top:<portal> <portal-name>default</portal-name> ...
There HAS TO BE a portal named "default", which is the default portal accessed by hitting 8080/portal/. So in your case, your portal will have to assume the name "default", and you will have to rename the one included in the distro. -

That's weird. I don't see any apparent reason for `MUST` for default.
A simple solution is to add `default` tag:<portal> <default>true</default> <portal-name>my-portal</portal-name> ...
Or even simplier to add a default attribute, so no need to change xml mapping:<portal default="true"> <portal-name>my-portal</portal-name> ...
If you give me a hint where is configuration builder, I will fix it. Of cource I will have to spend some time to dig out architecture. -

8. Re: Configure default portal instance to load
mmartin123 Jun 1, 2006 2:57 PM (in response to ivanlatysh)How would one go about setting JBoss Portal to use the Virtual Hosting capabilities of JBoss?
For instance I would like to have multiple Portal Web Apps exist on the same physical box and access each web app uniquely using a different domain.
Example:
http://mymachinea:8080 ----> hits jboss-portal.sar\WebApp1 code
http://mymachineb:8080 -----> hits jboss-portal.sar\WebApp2 code
I've setup virtual hosting and have gotten it to work for the most part. Its just that whenever I go to one of my virtual hosts as mentioned above - it gives me the "default" goop.
How do I turn off the default goop and make it only show the page/portlets that pertain to each individual application?
thx...
