rali.genova Aug 25, 2006 12:23 PM (in response to bmk)so the behavior you described in http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=89146 is with the bundled version only? I got a little lost on the subject - you report no problems on Windows, some issues on Suse Linux and a problem with the bundled version - how can I connect the dots here, so we can more easily isolate the problem?

18. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
bmk Aug 26, 2006 8:17 AM (in response to bmk)Sorry, if it is not clear.
Here are the points:
1. I've installed the Jboss Portal 2.4 GA(bundled file) on Suse 10.1.
- It can't expand the Portlet Management Tree
-->Version 2.4 RC3 worked fine.
2. I've installed the same zip file ( Jboss Portal 2.4 GA) on Windows. I can expand the Portlet management tree.
3. Seeing that the bundled version did not work, I chose to install separtely on my Suse 10.1 :
- JBOSS AS 4.0.4
- Then JBOSS-Portal 2.4 GA
This time, it works.
The incident is closed for me.
Thanks.

gruenewa Sep 7, 2006 4:54 AM (in response to bmk)Hi,
I also faced the error in the managment portlet when running JBoss Portal 2.4 with the Java 6 beta version. Using Java 5 everything works fine. Is there a schedule to fix this bug? Maybe with the release of Java 6?
Best regards,

20. Re: Problem about Management Portlet
mcclainc Sep 15, 2006 3:36 PM (in response to bmk)I have the same problem:
JBoss Portal 2.4 GA on Windows and login as "admin" - I am unable to expand the last nodes ("admin", "default", "test", etc) of the Portlet Management tree.
I am using Java 5.
Also, I tried to install JBoss AS first and then Portal as Brice suggested, but this also did not fix my problem..............
Any suggestions?

peterj Sep 15, 2006 10:49 PM (in response to bmk)I am also using Portal 2.4 and Java 5.0 and can expand the page nodes (test, admin, etc) without any problem. The thing is, you don't actually need to expand the page nodes. If you click on the page node (such as 'default'), the left side of the window displays the portlet windows and if you click on one of them you get the same data as if you clicked on them in the tree view (after expanding the page node).
Which OS and broswer are you using? At this moment I am using Windows XP and Firefox 1.5. -

punkgun Jan 24, 2007 5:19 PM (in response to bmk)hi,
I got the same problem. I solved it by pointing JAVA_HOME to a java 5 jre instead to a java 6 jdk.
