Hello

I tested on a few new computers(1 year old) today, it seems that JVM runtime was preinstalled when shipment.

Is this true?

How is the status of the JVM available/preinstallation for PCs?
I assume that the reason people don't use applet is becasue of the unavailable of the JVM. If all/80% computers preinstalled JVM runtime, i will consider to use applet AGAIN.

maybe you can try a survey. you make a portlet that increment a counter called HAS_A_COMPUTER per user, and that display a portlet that makes a server side callback to increase the counter for the same user with name CAN_RUN_APPLET.
