Use mbean/xmbean, which is a singleton service available for JNDI lookup, as your business interface to model.

bmcgovern Oct 18, 2006 9:41 AM (in response to bmcgovern)That explained Mbeans. But im still unclear, I think at a high level how it all fits together. I need to understand how both web apps and portlets can share a datasource, preferably through a hibernate session.
I've got my datasource set up and Im sure i can make calls on it through both a web app and a portlet but im unclear on the best approach for how to make my connections / how to set up hibernate for it. I'm just getting started and am confused. -
