jjarkko Jan 17, 2007 8:53 PM (in response to julien1)Hello,
And nice to have a new dev release of JBoss Portal. I downloaded and installed the 2.6.ALPHA1 bundle (Portal+AS), and there's some exceptions when accessing http://localhost:8080/portal/index.html :exception javax.servlet.ServletException org.jboss.portal.server.servlet.PortalServlet.service(PortalServlet.java:407) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:810) org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96) root cause java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException org.jboss.portal.core.impl.model.portal.PortalObjectImpl$1.toArray(PortalObjectImpl.java:189) java.util.ArrayList.<init>(ArrayList.java:131) org.jboss.portal.core.model.portal.command.RenderPageCommand.create(RenderPageCommand.java:195) org.jboss.portal.core.controller.ControllerCommand.createContext(ControllerCommand.java:111) org.jboss.portal.core.controller.ControllerContext.execute(ControllerContext.java:77) org.jboss.portal.core.controller.classic.ClassicController.handle(ClassicController.java:88) sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:597) org.jboss.mx.interceptor.ReflectedDispatcher.invoke(ReflectedDispatcher.java:155) org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.dispatch(Invocation.java:94) org.jboss.mx.interceptor.AbstractInterceptor.invoke(AbstractInterceptor.java:133) org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.invoke(Invocation.java:88) org.jboss.mx.interceptor.ModelMBeanOperationInterceptor.invoke(ModelMBeanOperationInterceptor.java:142) org.jboss.mx.server.Invocation.invoke(Invocation.java:88) org.jboss.mx.server.AbstractMBeanInvoker.invoke(AbstractMBeanInvoker.java:264) org.jboss.mx.server.MBeanServerImpl.invoke(MBeanServerImpl.java:659) org.jboss.mx.util.JMXInvocationHandler.invoke(JMXInvocationHandler.java:287) $Proxy187.handle(Unknown Source) org.jboss.portal.server.RequestControllerDispatcher.invoke(RequestControllerDispatcher.java:51) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invokeNext(Invocation.java:131) org.jboss.portal.server.aspects.server.ContentTypeInterceptor.invoke(ContentTypeInterceptor.java:67) org.jboss.portal.server.ServerInterceptor.invoke(ServerInterceptor.java:38) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invokeNext(Invocation.java:115) org.jboss.portal.core.aspects.server.LocaleInterceptor.invoke(LocaleInterceptor.java:108) org.jboss.portal.server.ServerInterceptor.invoke(ServerInterceptor.java:38) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invokeNext(Invocation.java:115) org.jboss.portal.core.aspects.server.UserInterceptor.invoke(UserInterceptor.java:194) org.jboss.portal.server.ServerInterceptor.invoke(ServerInterceptor.java:38) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invokeNext(Invocation.java:115) org.jboss.portal.server.aspects.server.SessionInvalidatorInterceptor.invoke(SessionInvalidatorInterceptor.java:85) org.jboss.portal.server.ServerInterceptor.invoke(ServerInterceptor.java:38) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invokeNext(Invocation.java:115) org.jboss.portal.core.aspects.server.TransactionInterceptor.org$jboss$portal$core$aspects$server$TransactionInterceptor$invoke$aop(TransactionInterceptor.java:49) org.jboss.portal.core.aspects.server.TransactionInterceptor$invoke_N5143606530999904530.invokeNext(TransactionInterceptor$invoke_N5143606530999904530.java) org.jboss.aspects.tx.TxPolicy.invokeInOurTx(TxPolicy.java:79) org.jboss.aspects.tx.TxInterceptor$RequiresNew.invoke(TxInterceptor.java:262) org.jboss.portal.core.aspects.server.TransactionInterceptor$invoke_N5143606530999904530.invokeNext(TransactionInterceptor$invoke_N5143606530999904530.java) org.jboss.portal.core.aspects.server.TransactionInterceptor.invoke(TransactionInterceptor.java) org.jboss.portal.server.ServerInterceptor.invoke(ServerInterceptor.java:38) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invokeNext(Invocation.java:115) org.jboss.portal.common.invocation.Invocation.invoke(Invocation.java:157) org.jboss.portal.server.servlet.PortalServlet.service(PortalServlet.java:381) javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:810) org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96)

uday.tangs Jan 23, 2007 11:42 AM (in response to julien1)I have installed JBoss Portal 2.6 on JBoss AS 4.0.5 GA. It looks great!!!
I have following questions...
Is desktop introduced in 2.6 to allow users to customize(adding portlets, and positions) home page after login>
Is desktop required for drag and drop functionality?
What is the road map for JBoss Portal 2.6 (beta release date, GA release date)
We have our project requirements which match to lot of functionality provided in JBoss Portal 2.6. -
19. Re: JBoss Portal 2.6 Alpha Release
pedalshoe Jan 28, 2007 1:52 AM (in response to julien1)I have JBoss AS 4.0.4GA+ Portal 2.6 Alpha, jdk1.5.0_10, MySQL 5.0.24, on win2k
I'm getting a 404:
"404 - Page Not Found
Oops! We can't really find the resource you're looking for."
This is showing up to the right of the Greetings! portlet, in the open space
Is this expected for this release?
I removed the WSRP directory as instructed from another post because i saw many errors related to WSRP.
Thanks,
Christopher -

karink Feb 1, 2007 10:45 AM (in response to julien1)Hi,
when will there be a new patched version available?
We also have difficulties in running the 2.6 Alpha Release.
Same errors as mentioned above (wsrp stuff). We cannot do it without
WSRP because we do a proof of concept there.
Furthermore we would like to unplug the CMS system. Any guide for the new version available? http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=UnpluggingThePortalCMS does not
work with 2.6 Alpha Release.

swestbom Feb 1, 2007 2:26 PM (in response to julien1)I hope someone there actually uses IE 6 (yeah I know, it is really bad) js in the navigation for nested pages in the object.xml doesn't work in it.

24. Re: JBoss Portal 2.6 Alpha Release and IE 6 why it matters
swestbom Feb 1, 2007 2:40 PM (in response to julien1)Anyone working for a large company with IE-6 as a "standard" should be able to tell you that there are so many legacy applications tied to the older Windows OS that it will be years before they move to IE-7 never mind a new OS or Firefox.
We are trying to kill off Windows apps here but in the financial sector our vendors write everything in VB for ancient versions of Windows, very frustrating.
The point being, IE-6 like it or not is not an optional browser to support in your code. If you don't test for it you will never make headway in the financial sector. -
25. Root Context
anders3 Feb 3, 2007 12:34 AM (in response to julien1)The root of all portals called "root" is not visual in Alpha 1 release on my Mac OSX.
This means I am unable to create new portal.
On DR1 it was visual.
I have tried Firefox 1.5.0.9 and Safari.
My Steps are:
1) http://localhost:8080/portal/auth/portal/admin
Logged on as admin
2) Open the root tree element
3) Discover that "root" is not shown
4) Discover that I am unable to add portal
5) I can add portals from the xxx-object.xml files in xx.war
And here the root element is not called "root", so I an not sure
if it is an error or a feature that the word "root" had been reoved in Alpha 1.
