jboss-4.2.0.CR1 and jboss portal 2.4.1

jboss-4.2.0.CR1 and jboss portal 2.4.1 -
does/should the combination work?

On my first try I got the following exception (while deploying portal-core-war)

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener

so I downloaded myfaces and copied all myfaces jars into the /server/default/lib, so the ClassNotFoundException was gone. but the jboss-portal still doesnt work, on startup I got the following exception, however I'm not sure if that's the real problem:

So my main question is now, is jboss 4.2.0 CR1 and portal 2.4.1 compatible?

Generally I think this information should be presented at a prominent position, I didn't find it.

At this point, jboss portal 2.4.1 is not compatible with jbossas 4.2.0. CR1. We will work on it however.

Which time frame do you except for this?

I think the compatibility info is one of the most important info, and it should be on the download page. This would safe a lot of time of senseless effort :-)

What else I'm missing is the jboss version used for the jboss portal + AS package, if there is any clear AS version of course, but I think there should be one.

Once I know the timeline, I will update here.

I agree with your input that compatibility matrix should be prominent. Currently, it's mentioned in portal doc though.

We bundle jbossas 4.0.4.GA with 2.4.1 portal and 4.0.5.GA with 2.6 portal.

just to be sure: there is no jboss portal version (of which you know) which works with 4.2.0.CR1, is there? thanks!

We are first working on making portal 2.6 work with 4.2.0. The latest 2.6 code, even later than beta1 release, deploys correctly but not all features work.

It would be very good if you would build another interim 2.6 release soon, so that JBP will deploy again, even if not all features are working (the basic portal functions should work).

2.6 aims at JBoss AS 4.0.x and deploys there.

2.6 current nightly build deploys in 4.2.x but the management portlet won't work. Check the Wiki to get the nightly build
