Is there a way to duplicate portal objects, such as portals

I'm using AS 4.0.5 and Portal 2.4. I have a need to duplicate an entire portal then tweak the duplicate to make a unique portal. For example, I want to keep the same basic page/sub-page/portlet structure just with a few changes. Is it possible to easily duplicate a portal without recreating every page/portlet? Thanks.

How did you define the portal? Did you use the Management Portlet or did you define a *-object.xml file? If the former, I don't know if you can clone the portal. If the later, make a copy of the *-object.xml file and edit it.

I created the portal with the Management Portlet. I guess using the *-object.xml file is an option, I was just hoping for something more automated. Thanks.

I think I reflected in another post that the ability to generate a *-object.xml file from a portal definition would be a nice feature. I think that Thomas suggested I write said feature, but I have been swamped working on other things lately. Though I foresee myself doing a lot of portal development work in the near future so I might still do it. Can't recall if there is a JIRA about this, though. Of course, that doesn't help your immediate need, sorry.

Copying a portal sub-tree is also something i wanted to work on with the new management portlet interface, but there are other priorities... Contributions are welcome of course ;)

Thanks for the responses. We are just evaluating JBoss at this point, but if/when we get to implementation and this feature doesn't already exist I'll look at developing it.
