Make a portal page not to be displayed as part of Tabs

Hi all,

I have a portal Page, which i want not to appear as part of the Tabs. Is there any way how i can acheive this.
When ever i create a page, it gets added to the tabs. Can i stop this.

I got work around. Modified the Tabs.jsp which saying that they should not spit our the html code for child nodes, which are pages under pages and thus achieved hiding feature for pages.
