Personalize and personalizerecursive, what is that for?

Hi!

I work with JBossPortal 2.6.1.
Now I don?t know which rights I should give to the default Portal.
The right ?View Recursive? is set initially.
When I add the right ?Personalize Recursive? I can?t see any differences in the default Portal. And in the online documentation it only says, that it is for personalization.
So what does personalization mean here?

I have a similar question.... I have given only view permision to unchecked. And not given personalize/personalizerecursive permision to any user/role. But when I login as admin or user, it shows me edit link for a portlet. Then what do we mean by personalize and recursive personize in jboss portal 2.6.1.

Personalize means, personalize the theme, i updated the documentation to make ti clear. (I also thought it was about the EDIT mode to be honest),

I was under the impression that, a user can personalize theme only when he is in dashbaord.

Can different users have different themes, while not in dashboard ( i mean in default portal, for different pages)? From where can they update it?

Ok. So only theme can be personalized. Thanks Thomas.

When we we dont select personalize recursive, and go and change the theme from profile for a particular user, then he will not be able to see the selected theme for the portal. To see that, one has to select personalize recursive.
