Hi Thanks for the reply, but I think I have found the problem.
When I have included jsf-api.jar and jsf-impl.jar in WEB-INF/lib, the portlet failed to deploy, it gave some wired error.
However, when I excluded those in the directory, the portlet deployed flawlessly, I suspect it could be a bug in Jboss Portal, because those jars are copied from the jboss web deploy directory.
The wars for the working and non-working versions could be downloaded below:

prabhat.jha Jun 5, 2008 2:54 PM (in response to michaelchan)Not a bug. Those jars come preloaded with jboss portal and that's why you saw the warning message that both myfaces and sun-jsf are in path. Only jar you need is jsf-portlet.jar and of course your app specific jar.

I have never used myface in the JSF, but is it already in JBoss? so the jBoss-face is actually myface? Because I know pretty much for sure that the jsf-lib in the web deployer directory is the sun implementation. Am I wrong? Please reply because I really want to know what's going on. -

claprun Jun 5, 2008 4:48 PM (in response to michaelchan)JBoss Application Server bundles Sun's reference implementation of JSF. The administration tools that come with JBoss Portal currently use MyFaces causing the warnings you see on the console. This shouldn't cause an issue with your own JSF portlets.
