Thanks for the reply. Would it not be a problem if the user is deleted. Then it would be possible to create a username with the same username for a different user. I suppose one can check and delete all the data or do something intelligent once the user is deleted.

The other possibility is to use the user name in combination with the user's registration date. That should always be unique. Of course, you still might want to have a maintenance routine that runs every now and then removes data for users that are not longer in the portal database. -
