Move suggestion box output list to one side?

Is it possible to have a suggestion box tag display it's output list to the right or to the left of it's input field? I have a text box at the bottom corner of the page, and I would like to be able to specify "display the suggestion box list div to the lefthand side of the field"

Looks like you can move it by targeting the CSS tags shown in table 6.431 here:

I was only able to move the box (div) vertically, by giving it a negative top margin... When I view the page source there appears to be some inline CSS to contend with... Still not sure how to shift it horizontally yet...
