conditionaly open modal panel

Hello,

I have situation when I need to open modal panel based on some backing bean value. It is search form where there is simple input box and search buton. Scenarion is such that when no results are found with simple input box modal panel must open. I'm quite new to RichFaces and from the modal panel example I'm not able to get the idea how to open it based on some server side condition.

just use the common jsf parameter "rendered" ... somehow like this:

<rich:modalPanel id="modalPanelId" rendered="#{bean.yourboolean}" showWhenRendered="true">
..... some content .....
</rich:modalPanel>
