Retrieving state/availability information on an individual r

Is there going to be a way to determine if a service or resource is available, meaning successfully deployed and running? We think some resources and services might also need more detailed state of the deployment, such the following examples.

For applications this will be states like "STARTING UP", "FAILED TO DEPLOY"
For resources this will be states like
o "PAUSED": if a Connector has been paused
o "STOPPED": if DataSource has had its underlying connection pool stopped
o "NOT INSTALLED": if a resource is known to the profile service but is has not been installed.

Looking at the http://docs.jboss.org/nightly/microkernel/docs/gettingstarted/en/html/basics.html#d0e268 of beans in the Microcontainer, I assume these states will be mapped into the ManagedComponent? How will that look?

While that would be the availabilty of those components, we thought about some other states that might be useful too.

Like for a Datasource is any connection is possible to connect to database. So the configuration is correct. Would this be an error returned through the default lifecycle or something else?

or other States to how accessible a resource is. for example for a Web App are the HttpConnectors up and running.

Some accessibility might be through references, so for a topic, it might be up, but its dead letter queue is not.

Just some random thoughts. :)
