1. Re: Installing JBoss Messaging as stand-alone
ovidiu.feodorov Apr 3, 2006 12:38 AM (in response to kibitzer)Running a standalone JBoss Messaging is nothing else than running a slimmed down JBoss instance. We need the microkernel and XMBean support, we also need a AOP support, remoting, etc.
I am working on a script that will use a "default" JBoss 4.0.3.SP1 installation to generate the minimal transitive closure of Messaging's dependencies.
I will post the ant script on the development wiki page. -

grfalk Jun 26, 2006 6:04 PM (in response to kibitzer)I know that work is being done on a Messaging stand-alone installation process/script per http://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBMESSAGING-26. However, as a new user that is only interested in using JBoss Messaging, is it possible to get at least close to the "slimmed down JBoss instance" by running the JBoss AS Web Installer, selecting a specific profile (such as "jms"), followed by selecting/deselcting specific "packages"?

ovidiu.feodorov Jun 26, 2006 7:37 PM (in response to kibitzer)You can achieve what you want by installing the "default" profile with the web installer and then running
and -f release-admin.xml standalone
from the "util" directory of the Messaging distribution.
