Setting Queue Max size gives errors

Jboss AS 4.2.1/ JBM 1.3GA

I am attempting to set the 'MaxSize' of a Queue... such that all messages that come after the maxSize is reached are dropped.
Using the jmx-console to change this value from -1 to 1000 causes this error :

If i attempt to set this value via the 'attribute' in the destinations xml file ...i get the error :

Looks like fixed in 1.4 GA

Is it possible to programmatically set this MaxSize value ? If not ... it sets up an potentially 'unbounded' Queue... which does not sound like a good idea.

It appears to be run-time configurable. But wouldn't you like to set it in the start-up configuration?

In 1.3 GA, there are 2 documented ways to pre-configure this value (please refer to first post). Errors are thrown when using jmx-console OR using Queue xml config.

Since i can't upgrade to 1.4 (where it appears to be fixed), i am wondering if for 1.3, there is any 3rd way(programmatic ?) to set a 'maxSize' for a Queue to avoid unbounded Queues.
