1. Re: how to suspend consumer of a queue/topic
timfox Jul 31, 2008 10:54 AM (in response to zhaoxixie)Connection.stop(). It's a standard part of JMS. See JMS spec or JMS javadoc for more details

This should work for standalone message receiver (client).
Is there any way to stop connection for a MDB.
Any suggestion? -

timfox Jul 31, 2008 11:32 AM (in response to zhaoxixie)You should try asking in the MDB forum.
MDBs are a part of JBoss AS, not JBM. -

I am working on migrating code from weblogic to jboss.
In weblogic, it is possible to suspend consumer of a queue by through mbean. Message will stay in the queue and not be delieved to its receiver including MDB.
MDB is just a client of JMS system. I will post my question in EJB forum but I wish such feature in messaging system. -

We already have such feature - it is called connection.stop(). -

When writing applications you should try not to use vendor specific functionality. Try and keep within the spec and you'll find you're applications will port a lot easier. -

Anyway to access this function through mbean? -

no. Like I said before, if you're application is relying on vendor specific code, then you are tying yourself into using that vendor. You need to rethink your solution and make sure it is portable across multiple JMS products.
