jbossnoob Sep 11, 2008 5:57 PM (in response to jbossnoob)Hey, can you cut me some slack? Can't you see I'm a noob? :D

peterj Sep 11, 2008 6:34 PM (in response to jbossnoob)Perhaps if you explained what you mean, someone could help you. Personally, I don't understand the question. I guess that makes me more of a noob than you. ;-)

3. Re: Singleton MDB with JBM.
jbossnoob Sep 11, 2008 7:16 PM (in response to jbossnoob)Ah ok thanks,
So I'm using JBM 1.4.0 SP3 I have a clustered application deployed however only one of those nodes is allowed to process messages on given queue.
I want it so that there can only be one node that has the MDB active at any given time in the cluster but if/when that node goes down another node will start its MDB.
I guess follows the HASingleton or whatever you call it with JBoss MQ
Thanks! -

5. Re: Singleton MDB with JBM.
peterj Sep 12, 2008 1:29 PM (in response to jbossnoob)I now at least understand what you want, but I have no idea how to accomplish it. It appears as if you do not really want clustering, but rather want some kind of fail-over capability.

6. Re: Singleton MDB with JBM.
jbossnoob Sep 12, 2008 1:39 PM (in response to jbossnoob)Hi Pete,
This is the way it worked with JBoss MQ and HASingleton, you could set a barrier on a MDB such as:
Depends( "jboss.ha:service=HASingletonDeployer,type=Barrier" )
This would get the job done. -

timfox Sep 13, 2008 8:11 AM (in response to jbossnoob)Read the FAQs!

8. Re: Singleton MDB with JBM.
jbossnoob Sep 13, 2008 7:05 PM (in response to jbossnoob)I read the FAQs and I also read this.

9. Re: Singleton MDB with JBM.
jbossnoob Sep 13, 2008 7:07 PM (in response to jbossnoob)If you are saying this can be done then your comments on that Jira look contradictory since you proposed a solution then took it back.
Thanks. -

Thanks.
The FAQ is correct.
The JIRA is talking about providing singleton queue/consumer functionality without using HA singleton (i.e in the JBM model), this is something we'll do in JBM 2.0.
I think the FAQ is pretty clear. -

jbossnoob Sep 14, 2008 5:15 PM (in response to jbossnoob)IF you are referring to this: http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/JBMHASingleton.
Then is not what I want, if you are referring to something else would it be difficult to paste a url? -

There are only one set of FAQs and one that mentions HASingleton.
