JBM Client Requirements

Hi, couple of questions about running JBM standalone. Please clarify...

1. What minimum components are required on JBoss AS to connect to remote JBM (standalone). I do not want messaging.sar to be deployed on JBoss AS but should be able to deploy my MDBs listening to Qs on remote JBM. As per my understanding it needs jms-ra.rar and jms-ds.xml under /deploy folder.
2. How the MDB DD should look like?

Yes you will need the jms-ra.rar and the jms-ds.xml.

If you take a look at the jca-config example, this shows an MDB configured to consume messages from a remote HornetQ server.

I would also suggest downloading HornetQ from http://hornetq.org

Hi Andy, Thanks for your reply. That helps me. I have another question about MDB. I want my 2.1 MDB to listen to remote Q using activation spec. How my MDB/JBoss.xml activation spec configuration should look like? Please clarify.

Take a look at the mdb examples. Those are what the EJB guys call activation properties.


You would be able to specify those activation properties on the xmls as well. Look at the doc at how they specify activation properties. Or ask that on the MDB forum.
