application not responding after a day, server and probe wor

hi,

we have an application on our development server which stops being available after some time (a day or so)

Error message:

HTTP Status 404 - /app/

type Status report

message /app/

description The requested resource (/app/) is not available.
JBossWeb/2.0.1.GA

When I take the ear to another server it works.

There is another server where this doesn't happen, although the config is pretty much the same. What I notice is the number of open files on the server where this happens is higher than on the one where it does not happen.

For example i-text.lib is opened parallely in 26 different /deploy/tmpXXXXXXXXXXXapp-ear.ear

Why are these files left open, and why are they never closed, although there are no more connections or application activity.

because as much as I love Seam and other JBoss products, the forum is the worst organized forum I have ever seen. Where is the Jboss 4.2 forum Oo? How is search working and is it working at all?

Except for AS-5, which had a major implementation change, there isn't a forum specific for each server version. You can post Installation, deployment and configuration issues in non-AS5 versions in the forum here http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewforum&f=61

We are facing the same issue with JBOSS EAP. The application was running fine for a day or two and later getting "Requested resource is not available for the initial jsp". From logs we can see that there are no errors while forwarding to jsp in the servlet. The issue was fixed when we restarted the server. Imagine restarting servers in production environment.
