2. Re: <a4j:mediaOutput> for displaying a html file generated
mario.balaban Sep 15, 2008 6:11 AM (in response to mario.balaban)I tried using
<a4j:mediaOutput element="object" type="text/html" createContent="#{reportVisualizer.visualize}" value="#{reportVisualizer.data}"></a4j:mediaOutput>
but i does not display my generated html. Debugging with firebug I can see the the object element instead :<object id="mainForm:j_id39" data="/Consolle/a4j_3_2_1-SNAPSHOTorg.ajax4jsf.resource.UserResource/n/n/DATA/eA ... RZ.jsf"/>

3. Re: <a4j:mediaOutput> for displaying a html file generated
mario.balaban Sep 15, 2008 6:18 AM (in response to mario.balaban)Instead after putting a pdf into the outPutStream used by mediaOutput and changing the tag to :
<a4j:mediaOutput element="object" type="application/pdf" createContent="#{reportVisualizer.visualize}" value="#{reportVisualizer.data}"></a4j:mediaOutput>
firefox asks me to install a plugin but then fails finding it. -

ilya_shaikovsky Sep 15, 2008 6:20 AM (in response to mario.balaban)firefox asks me to install a plugin but then fails finding it.
and what about other browsers? this seems could not be caused by mediaoutput itself. -
5. Re: <a4j:mediaOutput> for displaying a html file generated
mario.balaban Sep 15, 2008 7:01 AM (in response to mario.balaban)In IE 7.0 the html output is the same:
<object id="mainForm:j_id39" data="/Consolle/a4j_3_2_1-SNAPSHOTorg.ajax4jsf.resource.UserResource/n/n/DATA/eA ... RZ.jsf"/>
but it does not even ask anything to install.
Anyway for this moment I would like to generate and display an html ( the pdf output is for possible future implementation) file that should work without any additional plugin installed. -
6. Re: <a4j:mediaOutput> for displaying a html file generated
mario.balaban Sep 15, 2008 10:03 AM (in response to mario.balaban)RESOLVED. Sorry for having disturbed (ne doglyadel, izviniaiusi:). The problem was that I trying to view a blank html (wiht an empty body). Of course you were wright, the tag should be :
<a4j:mediaOutput element="object" type="text/html" createContent="#{reportVisualizer.visualize}" value="#{reportVisualizer.data}"></a4j:mediaOutput>
Now I just have to understand how to manage the pictures referenced by the generated file. Thanks a lot! -

Firefox failed to find plugin for me too, so I've switched on browser integration in Acrobat Reader preferences and it started to work.
