JBossSeam Ready for Implementations?

I'm getting ready to start a new project for my company which will eventually turn into their portal solution by the end of this year. However, I'm looking to develop and release a small piece of this functionality in the next couple of weeks. Is JBossSeam, in it's current state, stable to use?

Depends upon your needs. The demo app:

has been up continuously for 9 days now, since I finished work on it last Saturday. Now more than 1000 registered users.

So, assuming you have a proper test cycle, I don't see a problem using Seam for non-mission-critical applications without massive performance requirements.

But I'm of course not going to advise you to bet your business on it - that's why it's marked "beta" ;)

At this time, no more than 50 concurrent users at most.

The initial functionality will facilitate simple forms-based user requests and notifications.

When do you anticipate a production release?
When do you anticipate integration with JBpm and JPortal (need by end of year)?

That's fine, anyway, Seam is a pretty thin integration layer for other technologies; it's not doing the heavy lifting itself.

We hope to have a release with Portal integration and "finished" jBPM integration well before the end of the year, but I'm not able to make hard promises.

This stuff needs to go 1.0 sometime during Q1 2006.

Well, I've got to make my decision now so I guess I'll take up praying...I haven't been disappointed yet with JBoss.

I wouldn't mind being a part of any early testing efforts, since my project will be based on the above total integrated solution.

Sure, Seam CVS is completely public, so you can get "early access" anytime you like :)

It will be great to have some folks doing a real project on Seam, and helping guide us during development.
