My question is why the variable annotated with
@DataModelSelectionIndex
the one with @DataModel
and the method for selection (e.g. selectItem() ) has to be in the same component ?

If I put the selectItem in another component does not work.

It's not a important limit because i could move the method to the place where DataModel is but is not matching really to the conceptual model of the application.

I think this will be solved when we allow many DataModels in the same component because the problem can be related to that ..... .

This (and your problem with allowing multiple @DataModels per component) will be possible when I get round to this issue:

Apparently this has now been implemented and committed to CVS as of yesterday?

I downloaded and built the current CVS version this morning and still get a "method not found" syntax error when trying to assign a value for both the @DataModelSelectionIndex and @DataModelSelection annotations.
