1. Re: Seam in JBoss Portal 2.2. Does it make sense and is it p
theute Dec 22, 2005 3:50 AM (in response to hurzeler)Using Seam to create portlets is a good thing to do, although keep in mind that portlet support is weak so far, we will do our best to make it better.
You can have a look at the "portlet" example in CVS it works with JBoss Portal 2.2 -

gavin.king Dec 22, 2005 10:24 AM (in response to hurzeler)As I described in another thread, you can use Seam in a portal. Unfortunately, one of Seam's best features - conversations - doesn't work in a portal environment, and I can't really think of any way to make it work that doesn't involve building special support for Seam into JBoss Portal.
I was quite surprised to discover that this was so problematic. -

hurzeler Dec 22, 2005 4:30 PM (in response to hurzeler)Thanks Gavin,
Can you outline what the problem with the conversations is? Is there any hope that the conversations issues can be solved? -
4. Re: Seam in JBoss Portal 2.2. Does it make sense and is it p
gavin.king Dec 26, 2005 8:28 PM (in response to hurzeler)The problem is that there is no good way to propagate a conversation id across a browser redirect. JBoss portal is using browser redirects everywhere.

hurzeler Jan 19, 2006 1:21 AM (in response to hurzeler)Is there any hope that you are able to make SEAM conversations in the JBoss Portal available despite the difficultes? If yes when?

6. Re: Seam in JBoss Portal 2.2. Does it make sense and is it p
gavin.king Jan 19, 2006 3:08 AM (in response to hurzeler)This will not happen in 1.0 beta 2, which is now stable and ready for release. It will definitely be done later in Q1.
The best way to make this happen quickly is to go and nag Julien Viet to help by making the needed enhancements to Portal :-P. -

julien1 Jan 20, 2006 5:19 AM (in response to hurzeler)the Seam team has to propose his changes in our roadmap that is currently being established http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=74816
we discuss it and then it goes in the 2.4 roadmap.
if it is only bug fixes then it will go in 2.4 and backported in 2.2"gavin.king@jboss.com" wrote:
