ovewriting calendar validation message

Hi,
i just switched my rich calendars to enableManualInput=true with the consequence that i potentially allow the users to fill in whatever comes into their minds. However i saw that the entered value is validated and a wrong entry results in a (rich-)faces message such as "could not be understood as a date". My question is how i can i overwrite/customize this message (just like other faces validation messages)?

uncle google settled the matter. as jsf validation is used overwriting "javax.faces.converter.DateTimeConverter.DATE" property made my customized message appear.
