Apply style only for particular richfaces component instance

Hi,

I have many richfaces pages with many <rich:panel> components that uses the same colors, fonts, etc. from the skin file, and thats fine.

But, I need to place some <rich:panel> components with different style.

I've read the rich faces guide but doesn't help too much, I want to know what I have to place in the styleClass attribute (if it is the case) or how can specify a custom style for an instance of a component.

You can define a style class for one or more rich:panels by specifying the styleClass attribute. For example, if you want a rich:panel with no border you would write:

<rich:panel styleClass="customPanel">
...
</rich:panel>

in your css file you would define the following:

.customPanel{
 border:none;
}

This would override generic richPanel border. Does this answer your question?

Hi!, thanks for the quick reply,

well... the problem is that if I create an style class with, for example: background-color:#DDDDDD; ths value wll apply to the big "div" that contains the component (rich:panel), what I need is to define a different color scheme for other parts of the panel, I mean the header and the body.

Take a look at http://www.jboss.org/file-access/default/members/jbossrichfaces/freezone/docs/devguide/en/html/panel.html

At the bottom of the page it tells you which classes to use for custom styles. For example rich-panel-header will style just the header.

Hi, Thans for your help.

I've tried setting the headerClass to a defined style, but doesn't work:

.grayHeader {
 background-color: #dddddd;
 border-color: #dddddd;
}

<rich:panel header="Current user" headerClass="grayHeader">

But doesn't work...

What if you write:

<div class="grayHeader">...</div>

? Does class apply?
