2. Re: Question about Seam dvd example and persistence
c_eric_ray Aug 14, 2006 9:44 AM (in response to c_eric_ray)I've read that post and while excellent in it's own right, it only explains the differences in the two. Being new to EJB and and CMP, it's still unclear as to why you would mix the two types of persistence management within one application. I don't understand the advantage of using EXTENDED in a bean and then TRANSACTION in the next bean and what design and architectural aspect feed the decision.
Thanks.

3. Re: Question about Seam dvd example and persistence
pmuir Aug 14, 2006 1:34 PM (in response to c_eric_ray)Well if you are in a stateless area of your app you don't need an extended/SM persistence context so I suppose the designer choose not to use one. I use SMPC throughout my app so that the whole thing is simple. Anyone know why you shouldn't use a SMPC/Extended PC in a stateless bean? Performance?
