How to get form elelemt if it was rendered by ajax

Hy,

if I have a form in a tab (wich is ajax rendered), and want to get this form with javaScript like: document.forms['form_id'], I get an error form is not defined. How can I get this form's innerhtml?

I allready figured it out. it doesn't work with document.forms['form_id'] , but it works with document.getElementById('form_id').
strange, but it works.
