    SEAM and Tomahawk

    esoares

      Hi folks,

I have read a recomendation in SEAM Docs to avoid using tomahawk.

What is the problem of doing that??

I am curious because tomahawk seems to have very useful components.

Tomahawk is alpha quality code, not well documented, with bad examples. Many Seam developers and Seam users wasted hours and days on these components. So we pass on a warning.

You are much better off using a component library like Trinidad (Oracle ADF) or give the new ICEFaces open source library a shot.

I'm in the camp that wasted hours or days on Tomahawk and now I'm going through and ripping it all out. It has some cool things like tooltips and sortable tables that are exactly what I want but if it doesn't work then it's not worth anything.

              Thanks guys.

ADF and ICEFaces really seems to be awesome libraries.

              I will skip tomahawk.

              cheers.
