Direct view-id return

Hello,

I started with JBoss Seam before I knew JSF, so my question is:

Does JSF support that not a outcome but direct the view-id is returned
by a navigation-determining method?

If not - does JBoss internally modify faces-config.xml and generated
appropriate <navigation-rule> elements for JSF to work?

As far as I know it does support that. We certainly don't modify faces-config.xml.
