Anyone knows if Seam works with JSP 2.1? and JBoss AS 4.0.5?
Also now that JSP 2.1 has fixed the problem JSP had with JSF. Is it still a good idea to use Facelets?
If so is there any Seam example using JSP 2.1?
Facelets is still much better than JSP 2.1.
Facelets has superior performance, rapid ui development, templating system, and much more. Many of these and other features are completely missing from JSP. -

terryb Feb 1, 2007 9:33 AM (in response to terryb)thanks agori. I guess you use facelets. may I ask which development environment you use?
also what do you think about using jPDL vs JFS Navigation? -

gavin.king Feb 1, 2007 11:18 AM (in response to terryb)Yes, it will work with JSP 2.1. Note that JBoss 5 ships with a version of the Seam booking demo.

terryb Feb 1, 2007 8:06 PM (in response to terryb)Thank you, much appreciated! and my lucky day (birthday) I got reply from Gavin! It is encouraging to see The Creator so active on the Fourm; or is it one of many hi-tech secretaries :).
I guess I should give GlassFish a try, since JBoss 5 GA may not be ready in the near future? and we are looking at putting site in production in 6 months time. I haven't looked at GlassFish but I was feeling little comfortable with JBoss AS since it uses Tomcat and we have Tomcat in production for many years. Wondering if JBoss5 releases are stable enough to start using them for new projects in my situation? -

gavin.king Feb 2, 2007 12:43 AM (in response to terryb)JBoss 5 is definitely not ready for production.
However, JBoss 4.2 (coming soon) will support JSP 2.1. -
