1. Re: Seam mail did not work in Tomcat
pmuir Feb 13, 2007 5:13 AM (in response to rajeshv7)No, the mail example won't work ootb on tomcat (it uses meldware as an smtp server which doesn't support EEJB afaik).
You'll need to configure the mailSession in components.xml and set an SMTP gateway (the SMTP server as you would configure in your favourite MUA).
I'll add a note to the docs/example about this. -

rajeshv7 Feb 13, 2007 7:34 AM (in response to rajeshv7)Petemuir,
Thanks for your immediate response. I tried running the sample after making the following change in the components.xml but still couldn't get it to work for some reason
<mail:mailSession host="smtp_server_name" port="25" username="username" password="password" />
thanks

3. Re: Seam mail did not work in Tomcat
pmuir Feb 13, 2007 8:36 AM (in response to rajeshv7)1) Any exception that occurs is logged (at DEBUG level, rather than ERROR, I'll fix that for 1.1.7), please try sending a simple email (the first button) and post any exception that occurs.
2) Add debugging to JavaMail<mail:mailSession host="smtp_server_name" port="25" username="username" password="password" />
and post the messages it prints out. -
6. Re: Seam mail did not work in Tomcat
rajeshv7 Feb 15, 2007 12:22 AM (in response to rajeshv7)Petemuir,
The mail sample application started working once I moved the jboss-seam-mail.jar to the lib folder as mentioned in the seam ref doc section 16.2 Previously I had mistaken this jar for jboss-seam-email.jar
Sorry about the delay in my response as I had problem logging in the whole day yesterday.
Thanks for your help again.
Rajesh
