                Hi.

If you have downloaded Seam go to the directory named "examples"; Yes I'm not joking.

The 'booking' example is the best to get started, the file main.xhtml has plenty of stuff to see about listing data in a datatable. Also give a look at HotelSearchingAction.java.

                Good luck!

Maybe you haven't used visual studio a lot but I think you should set your aim a little higher.

**** Zing!!!!! I'll be here all week!!! ******

Seriously, good job guys. I'll be looking forward to it. Now if you could just port it to Intellij IDEA, I'd be really happy :)

Seam is tightly integrated with jbpm and jboss rules which have excellent plug-ins in eclipse with no alternative in Intellij Idea.
I am thinking on a solution in which we could have both IDEs side by side.

                      To Gavin:
If you could update seam-gen tool, so that it create an .iml and .ipr files for an intellij idea web project beside the eclipse and netbeans projects, we will be really happy, just like mcantrell!

This is an excellent example of something that the community (ie. you!) could contribute :-)

AFAIK you would set up a project as if for ajax4jsf (seam-gen will do this for you :) and just drop the richfaces jar into WEB-INF/lib

we tried this. But it only worked with simple components (e.g., the separator). If we bound the suggestion box to a Seam managed bean, we encountered class loading problems. We then put the jars from richfaces, ajaf4jsf, and oscache into the root of the EAR and added them as Java-modules. This solved the problems.

We tested the suggestion box, the data table, and the panel and everything worked fine. The skins seem to be missing and the documentation is a little bit sparse.
But all in all, it is usable now and it can only become better :-)

I put jars into ear and register them as java moduls and I always get error at deployment:

                            javax.faces.FacesException: org.ajax4jsf.renderkit.ChameleonRenderKitFactory

                            What that means.

That's really GREAT!!! (Seam + Ajax4JSF + RichFaces) and (JBOSS + Exadel IDE) all together.

From the deep of my heart... CONGRATULATIONS for a such good product. It has helped me a lot...

                              But...
I've seen the MS Visual Studio 2005. The IDE is super, but unfortunately it is M$ .NET.

The JBOSS Eclipse IDE + Exadel IDE helps a lot, but sometimes I have to do a lot of "manual working" like XML configs.

It would be great having such a really productive IDE, where we could visually develop systems.

                              Anyway... congratulations again

                              Best,
                              Ricardo

Did you try to deploy such project(Seam +ajax4jsf+richfaces)??? I can't even deployet.
