flashguru Mar 18, 2007 8:40 PM (in response to fady.matar)How are you adding your messages to FacesMessages? There is an API change for the FacesMessages that was introduced in 1.2. If you want to attach a message to a JSF control, then you should use the new FacesMessages.addToControl() method

fady.matar Mar 20, 2007 7:01 AM (in response to fady.matar)I'm using the FacesMessages.addToControl() method and still it's not working.
I have even updated the faces-config to match the JSF 1.2 configuration and still the validation is not working -

Yes I get this too.
I work on one of three machines depending where I am.
All three act differnently.
One is XP64 with as much as poss XP64 compat (Java, Jboss etc.)
Two are XP Pro (32).
Lots of things work differently actually.. I just assumed it was IceFaces.

5. Re: FacesMessages queued but not being displayed.
fady.matar Mar 31, 2007 4:00 AM (in response to fady.matar)This happens only with beans that extend the EntityHome and specifically in the overriden methods of the EntityHome

7. Re: FacesMessages queued but not being displayed.
fady.matar Mar 31, 2007 6:11 PM (in response to fady.matar)I'm calling intermediary SessionBeans and they're throwing error messages. Not an adequate approach

8. Re: FacesMessages queued but not being displayed.
fady.matar Apr 2, 2007 7:52 AM (in response to fady.matar)Not even the pages.xml approach is working, that's weird, why messages are being displayed from any other beans except entity Homes?

9. Re: FacesMessages queued but not being displayed.
pmuir Apr 3, 2007 11:34 AM (in response to fady.matar)Get your debugger out, attach it to the FacesMessages class, and check whether the problematic messages are being output from there. If they are, you could be loosing them by trying to output once your lrc has ended or sth. There was a workaround for a JSF (not sure which impl) bug that altered the way FacesMessages handled messages.

Ghaarrrrr..
Can this be put in the documentation 13.2.3?
I keep falling over this!.. at my Age the memory is not so good!
