Will RichFaces be ported to JSF 2.0?

I realize that RichFaces will probably work as-is in JSF 2.0, but I'm wondering if it will be "cleaned up" by using the new built in support for ajax, resource relocation, the new component model, etc? I realize this is a big job.

Yes its a big job and part of our team already started some parts of this job.. ;) For example every new feature or issue fix planned verified to be compatible with new JSF 2.0 from the beggining. And we certainly will perform all needed clean ups and other compatibility tasks before JSF 2.0 first releases.

Wow that is really big news for me! I was concerned that JSF 2.0 would come out but there wouldn't be a good component suite for it until a year later, and so we'd still have the usual issues with mixing component suites etc. I'm going to look at RichFaces more seriously now.

BTW I'm not sure if you guys know, Sun has EOL'd the Woodstock component suite because of the layoffs. People have complained that they want Sun to at least make it work with Firefox 3, and Sun says the issues are related to possible bugs in FF3 and they are working with Mozilla to make them aware of the problems.

Yes it is very important for RF after 3.3 release in early Jan to focus and put energy on JSF 2 branch. JSF 2 adoption will require a good component suite like RF.

Complex draggable Layout Component is also what have been long waited.

JSF 2 branch released will be an important milestone.

Any update how are we progressing on this what is the plan?

On http://www.jboss.org/community/docs/DOC-11846 I do not see any release planned for JSF 1.2 OR JSF 2 branches.

Also if possible please share the plan or progress of Complex draggable Layout Component.
