rich:combobox or inplaceselect to load selectitems on demand

hi there!

i got the problem to deal with clients that are attached with a very small network bandwidth. as we have many drop-down-selects (or comboboxes) with a lot of values i would just love to have a combobox tag that loads the selectitems only when the user clicks to change the value. is this possible with either rich:combobox or rich:inplaceselect?

only suggestion box could be used. But this component requires additional code in order to process label-value data.
