Webservices possible in plain Tomcat 5.5?

Is it possible to make web services as easily as shown in the Seam 2 documentation when running in a plain Tomcat 5.5 install, without JBoss Embedded or JBoss AS?

I believe so, but you'll need to install JBossWS separately.

OK, I'm able to use JBossWS 1.2.1 successfully with Tomcat 5.5, using JAX-WS POJO's. Now how in the world to do them in Seam? I followed the Seam documentation, but nothing seems to happen :/

No; I even tried putting invalid data in standard-jaxws-endpoint-config.xml to see if it was being read, with no change.

Can you invoke a web service that doesn't interact with any of the Seam contexts? I.e. do plain (non-Seam) web services work?
