andreigh.ts Nov 10, 2007 5:24 AM (in response to andreigh.ts)Is there a workaround or a patch available for this? DataModels are practically unusable due to this...
Thanks. -
4. Re: DataModel bug in Seam 2
tnfink Nov 10, 2007 8:54 AM (in response to andreigh.ts)We had a similar behavior after migrating to 2.0.0CR2. We changed the scope of the DataModel to PAGE and the problems vanished.
Maybe this could help you too. -

danidacila Nov 11, 2007 5:49 AM (in response to andreigh.ts)Hello all.
Yes I think it's a bug.
I wrote a topic before, but the name was truncated so nobody knew I was talking about seam 2.
The topic is: Unexpected behaviour - DataModel & Nested conversations with
I reprodused the error using the demo application hotel booking so it's definatly a bug.
I resolved it by changing the scope of the bean holding the datamodel from Conversation to Session.
Hopefully this bug will be corrected very soon because I think DataModel is used often. -

ilya78 Nov 11, 2007 12:35 PM (in response to andreigh.ts)if you want it to be fixed, vote for it - see the link to jira issue above.
Hopefully someone will take votes in consideration, although I doubt it, sice this issue is considered to be only Major, not Critical, and is not assigned to any version to be fixed in yet... :-( -

andreigh.ts Nov 12, 2007 4:33 AM (in response to andreigh.ts)We had a similar behavior after migrating to 2.0.0CR2. We changed the scope of the DataModel to PAGE and the problems vanished.
I don't think PAGE context works if you have s:link or s:button in the page, because they don't propagate the PAGE context. -
8. Re: DataModel bug in Seam 2
andreigh.ts Nov 12, 2007 11:08 AM (in response to andreigh.ts)an alternate workaround would be to refresh the datamodel every time the page loads, using a page action...

pmuir Nov 12, 2007 1:01 PM (in response to andreigh.ts)We know of the bug and Norman is working hard to fix it - it's just proving very hard to track down a reproducible case. So if you have an easy way for him to reproduce it (a patch against the booking example is ideal) please attach it to the issue!
