TreeStateAdvisor not found

I write a component implementing TreeStateAdvisor to control
a richfaces <rich:tree>. TreeStateAdvisor is packaged in richfaces-ui.jar which is packaged in the WAR.
Therefore I get a NoClassDefFoundError for TreeStateAdvisor.

How can I get around this?

it works in the richfaces demo

therefore i think it's a seam packaging problem

It's not a Seam packaging problem, the class, if it is really part of the RichFaces api (as opposed to impl which you should not link against) should be in the richfaces-api.jar which should be in your ear classpath.
