Seam PDF with content-disposition=attachment - is it possibl

Currently, when I generate PDFs using Seam PDF, they either a) open in the same browser window by default, or b) open in a new window, if I use s:link with target="_blank". What I'm missing (compared to the old way of generating PDFs using Jasper - not that I miss Jasper by any amount) is the ability to force a save dialog to pop up when a PDF is requested, by setting "content-disposition: attachment" in the response.

Now, my question is, was this ever addressed by Seam? Is it possible to force a save dialog when generating PDF using Seam PDF?

Alternatively, is it possible to get the generated PDF as a byte[] in the code - so that I would output it manually, setting the content-disposition on the way?

Doesn't look like there are ways to do this at the time. I created a JIRA feature request: http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-2417

There was already an open JIRA issue (http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-2366) for this, and by happy coincidence I wrote the code for it a couple days ago. I've just checked it in. I'll get docs in shortly, but for now just add disposition="attachment" to your <p:document> tag. I may change the name to something more obvious before the final release. (or I may keep it like that to be clearer to people who understand the HTTP concept)

Also note that the PDF support no longer does the HTML redirect. The redirect is done at the HTTP level, where it should have been done all along. I'd love to get some feedback on how it's working, especially from IE users. (I only have Safari and Firefox locally and have to jump through hoops to get to a windows machine)

Norman is release 2.0.1GA far away yet? I could really use those enhancements to pdf module.

No, it's not included in the CR1 build

Yes, it works like a charm (at least on IE7 and Mozilla2)

Yes, I'm sorry none of this made it into CR1. I expect 2.0.1CR2 will come out shortly after everyone is back from vacation, which shouldn't be too far from now.
