1. Re: s:link without the href? Only for the onclick
ericjava Feb 2, 2008 10:23 PM (in response to ericjava)That was not so clever of me. I should have had "return false" instead of just "false". Obviously I'm not a JavaScript programmer, which is why I love RichFaces, so I can avoid having to do JS programming.
Which leads me to my question: is there some way of doing this in RichFaces, perhaps using componentControl, that would make me not need to write any JavaScript? There must be but I can't figure it out.
Thanks -

dhinojosa Feb 2, 2008 11:07 PM (in response to ericjava)Can you just have a bean that just holds a boolean value and use that as a rendered=#{myBean.staticViewOn} and just AJAX4JSF?

3. Re: s:link without the href? Only for the onclick
ericjava Feb 2, 2008 11:43 PM (in response to ericjava)That's a good idea. I could. The advantage is that by doing that, it could refresh the values (just in case they have changed), or otherwise check that the object in question is still editable. I guess the round-trip time for doing that would be minimal. I'll try it both ways and see how it feels.

4. Re: s:link without the href? Only for the onclick
pmuir Feb 3, 2008 6:11 PM (in response to ericjava)Just use an
<a onClick.../>
rather than a JSF component. -

shane.bryzak Feb 3, 2008 6:56 PM (in response to ericjava)And if you want the anchor to appear as a link, you'll also need to set href="#".
