rich:calendar's performance

Hi rich:guys ,

We are using RC 3.2.1 with JSP on JBoss 4.2.1.

We saw a closed jira (RF-1717) about rich:calendar's performance. But with IE (6 and 7) when there is a lot (about 40) of rich:calendar in a page, just after showing the page, iexplorer freeze during more than 20 secs.

That makes our pages unusable with those browsers.
The latest version of richfaces does not help.

We know the following workaround http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919237 but our customer has no right to install any patch on their windows.

Is there anyone that found something to increase rich:calendar's initialisation performance

unfortunatelly the calendar creates script object for every instance.. So seems we could not influence the perfomance more than already done.. If you use calendar in the table - you could try to organize something like inplace yourself. I mean to load calendar only when its need to edit data.

Yes I was thinking about some workaround like inplace rich calendar
or some lazy calendar initialization (initializing only when the popup is opening).

But I hoped someone could already have done such thing.

Do you have some clue on what is the best way and how to start ?
