APR and filter mediated static file access

Hello,

Having read all the docs I can find about JBossWeb I'm still unclear how the native APR fits in. If I have a collection of large static xml files that I want to serve but I have a filter setup in the web app to process all requests (/*)--for instance just to check a header value--are the files still served by the APR?

If they are serverd as standard files then yes.
For large files sendfile will be used.
