      We are very excited to announce that the JBoss ESB and JBoss Drools projects have each received a BOSSIE Award from InfoWorld. JBoss ESB took home the “Best Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) in the “Best of Open Source Platforms and Middleware category, while JBoss Drools won “Best Rule Management System in the “Best of Open Source Developer Tools Category. This is the second consecutive BOSSIE for JBoss Drools, which also won the 2007 “Best Business Rule Management System award from InfoWorld. Our congratulations go out to the development teams for both projects!

      The JBoss ESB and JBoss Drools projects are integrated with the JBoss jBPM project and made available with 24×7 support, patches, updates and multi-year maintenance via a subscription to the JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform. As a single platform, it delivers a low-cost, open source alternative to complex, expensive, proprietary SOA suites by enabling customers to find, integrate and orchestrate SOA business services, enterprise applications, and other IT assets into automated business processes. The JBoss Drools project also fuels the JBoss Rules Enterprise Framework. JBoss Rules subscriptions are also available for those using it outside of the JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform.

      InfoWorld’s BOSSIE Awards recognize the best free and open source software available and cover:

      * Collaboration
      * Developer Tools
      * Enterprise Applications
      * Networking
      * Platforms and Middleware
      * Productivity Applications
      * Security
      * Storage Software

      Earlier this week we also posted a blog announcing that SD Times named JBoss Enterprise Middleware to its SD Times 100 list, recognizing companies offering leadeship and innovation over the course of the year.

      Again, congratulations to the JBoss Drools and JBoss ESB teams!
