Jboss portal session timeout

Hello,
Here in the details on my env:
Jboss pOrtal - 2.7
Jboss portlet bridge - B3
Jboss app server - 4.2.2

I have a portlet where I am integrating with a 3rd party application through an inframe. I am facing a situation where the portal session times out while the user is working with the 3rd party application. I need the portal session to be alive while the user is interacting with the 3rd party pplication. I tried <a4j:poll> and though my managed bean gets called at the fixed intervals of time, my portal session still times out.

Any suggestion/comments are appreciated.

Jboss portal handle portlet session independent from the servlet one. That problem will be resolved in the JSR-286 compatible version of the bridge, because portlet 2.0 has "resource" request type.
But, because Jboss Portal 2.7 is portlet-2.0 compatible, workaround exists:
You can create "dummy" resource url using portlet-2.0 API and request that url in the JavaScript code periodically.
