Unsupported JMS message type

Hi,

I've configured a MailListener action that polls a mailbox via IMAP. When sending an XML message to the mailbox, the message is treated correctly. When sending a text message to the mailbox, an "Unsupported JMS message type" is generated.

Yes, not all JMS types are supported. I think there's a JIRA already.

Can I conclude that - at this point in time - only XML-based messages are supported ? Any idea if - and when - non-XML messages will be supported ?

Sorry... are you by any chance using a Message Aware JMS Queue (Vs a Gateway Queue) for receiving these JMS messages. The fact that the JmsComposer class is coming into play suggests this. Sounds like these messages are not ESB Aware Messages and need to go through a Gateway first. No?

No, you can conclude that I haven't had a chance to look through JIRA yet for the issue.

In order to be able to read mail messages from a mailbox, I've based my code on http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/UsingMailInflowWithJBossESB.

I would like to understand the difference between a Message Aware JMS Queue and a Gateway Queue and the related pros/cons. Could you provide me an article that explains this difference in detail ?
