octomac Jan 28, 2009 3:45 PM (in response to octomac)Just in case my explanation above was a little convoluted, here's a screenshot of what the table's actually doing:

...and here is the column code for the offending Description field:<rich:column width="165" sortable="true" sortBy="#{event.description}" filterBy="#{event.description}" filterEvent="onchange" label="Description"> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText value="Description"></h:outputText> </f:facet> <rich:panel header="description test" style="width:100px;"> <h:outputText value="text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text text"/> </rich:panel> </rich:column>

dxxvi Jan 29, 2009 6:12 AM (in response to octomac)if you use firebug to look at the extended data table example, you'll see a css class like this:
.extdt-cell-div { -moz-box-sizing:border-box; cursor:default; font-weight:normal; overflow:hidden; white-space:nowrap; width:100%; }
All you have to do is override the white-space with white-space: normal.
Hope this helps. -

octomac Jan 29, 2009 11:23 AM (in response to octomac)Hey, thanks, man! I modified the class in my CSS file, and that took care of it. I do wonder, though, why that's set to 'nowrap' by default; seems to me like you'd almost always want that to wrap. Oh, well, that completely fixes my problem, so no worries, right?

nbelaevski Jan 29, 2009 7:36 PM (in response to octomac)I guess this was done in order to keep cells height a constant value.
