    Protocol clustering question

    noelo

In the JbossESB programmers guide under Advanced Topics->Protocol Clustering it says that "....if you place all of you ESB services within a JMS cluster then you cannot expect to benefit from ESB replication."

Maybe I'm missing something but that doesn't seem to make sense considering that all replicated services would be looking a the same JMS queue.

Or am I taking this out of context ?

      regards

I think the language is slightly misleading. I believe what it's trying to say is that the in-built high availability that comes with the ESB and is transport agnostic, is less of benefit if using JMS. But I'd have to go back and check the docs to be sure.

Hi Mark, thanks for the reply.

It is a bit vague and confusing. In other areas of the doc it says that JMS is the only method by which messages can be guaranteed delivery (using JMS transactions) so it might be an idea to remove or update it.

Can you create a JIRA and link this forum posting?
